Damian Gibson (14-05-1975) is an Australian born Rugby League footballer with Halifax. Damian attended Emmaus College, Rockhampton. He re-joined Halifax in November 2004 after being released by Castleford Tigers following their relegation from Super League and went on to score 15 tries in 30 appearances in 2005.
'Gibbo' originally signed from Leeds Rhinos in the 1997 close season and was an integral part of the side who finished 3rd in Super League in 1998. Left the Shay in September 2001 to join Salford City Reds, spending one season at the Willows before moving to Castleford following the Reds' relegation.
He has also represented Wales and scored 41 tries in 114 appearances during his first spell at The Shay.
Damian Gibson was named in the Wales squad to face England at the Keepmoat Stadium prior to England's departure for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.[1] He is now the head coach of the Leeds Rhinos Under 20's squad.
